Just south of Wallaceville Station this signal usually acts as a Stop & Proceed intermediate signal, showing normal speed or stop. On race days, when Trentham is switched, in 3117 may also display Yellow over Green - Prepare to reduce to Medium Speed. It will display this indication if the Down Home at Trentham is displaying medium speed for a train to enter the loop.

In the late 1950s the signal at this location was a single unit one with a marker light. It was this signal that first interested me in signalling. As I stood on Wallaceville Station I wondered at the purpose of the small red light that never changed colour.
